About:

Johanna joined the church in 2015 after moving to Killeen to be closer to the school where she teaches. Throughout the years, she has had the privilege of serving in many areas of the church such as youth group leader, worship team, outreach team, and serves as a host home for one of the community groups. With a heart for people around the world, Johanna was able to serve as a Journeyman Missionary through the International Mission Board in Lilongwe, Malawi, Africa for two years. After moving back to the States, she also served in several other places such as the Philippines and Honduras as a short term missionary. Her heart for God’s created people is what continues her drive towards serving all who are around her in any way she is able.
In 2021, Johanna was privileged to become a foster parent to a young man named Robert, whom she later adopted in the summer of 2022. This new journey in both of their lives is a continuous reminder of God’s grace, love and mercy for those who know, love and follow Him.

Johanna’s hope for The Journey:

Her hope for the Journey is that all who enter the Church, feel as though they have entered into a family. She also hopes that with the transitory nature of those who are military and get to attend Journey, generations of believers are grown and church leaders are raised up in order that the world would know of the saving grace of Christ wherever they go.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
