Life was not meant to be lived alone but in Community

One of our Core values at the Journey is Community

Redemptive Relationships: Community helps provide opportunities for people to engage in redemptive relationships with the Body of Christ - Gal. 6:1-10

Gather to Display the Gospel

Engage in authentic, biblical community by sharing ordinary life together. Learn to love Jesus and one another better as we share in our common mission to bring the Gospel to bear in our communities. It is in the context of these groups that Christ-centered community and growth begin to happen.

Have questions?

How long do group meetings last? Groups typically meet anywhere from 1-2 hours. Each group meets to discuss and learn to apply the commands of Christ in Scripture generally centered around the sermon series that we are currently following at the Journey. The aim is to translate the Bible to the whole of our lives. That doesn’t happen apart from the fellowship of believers.

When and where do groups meet? Groups meet in homes at different times during the week. We will help you find a group that is near you and works best with your schedule. Come as you are and participate as much as you are able.

What should I expect? Groups are all about people taking the next steps in following Jesus together. Community groups generally share a meal, prayer, and life together. There is also a time for opening the Bible together, usually centered on the sermon text from the previous Sunday. This is a focused time to take what was preached and learn how to put it into practice as a community. The goal for all of our group meetings is to build one another up in love and spur one another on toward obedience to Jesus.
