About:

Growing up Joe didn't know God. He met his Christian wife Audrey in high school. For her sake, Joe went along with the idea that God was a possibility. The existence of God seemed like a myth, and didn't make any sense to him. As the years went by, Joe continued to live his life his way, fueled by pride and selfishness. Well into his adult life, Joe kept God at a distance, which only led to conflicts in his family and life. He believed that he had all the answers, and if he worked hard enough, he could succeed in life.

After nearly divorcing his wife because of his pride and the painful separation that Joe initiated in ignorance, he finally realized that his way wasn't working. His path was so self-centered and destructive, as he had been completely reckless with those who loved him. He never fully surrendered to God until he nearly lost everything, including the blessing of his wife and daughters. All alone and isolated in an apartment, Joe hit rock bottom. He was finally able to see the mess he had made of his life. In that low moment, Joe called out to God, and God responded without hesitation. He saw how God’s hand had always been present in his life over the years, regardless of how corrupt and selfish his actions were.

God was always there, nudging Joe and patiently waiting for him to surrender. For the first time, Joe decided to stop focusing on himself and finally focus his heart on Christ. God has given Joe a new spirit and a heart of flesh. He has led Joe to a renewed and beautiful marriage with his wife, restored broken relationships with his daughters, new friendships, and a new outlook on life. Now, Joe knows in confidence who and what he is in Christ.

Joe’s hope for The Journey

Jesus commanded his disciples to go make disciples and to baptize them. He was baptized and called us all to follow his example.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
